Former Anambra State Governor backs the institution’s mission to enhance healthcare training and academic excellence.

The former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Oji River, in Enugu State, to support its continuous improvement in healthcare education and training.
During his visit to the college, Mr. Obi emphasized that the gesture was part of his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s education and health sectors. He praised the institution’s management for their dedication to training competent nurses who contribute to national and global healthcare delivery.
He noted that investment in nursing education is an investment in human capital, stressing that Nigeria must continue to build strong institutions that equip young people with skills for service and innovation.
The Provost of the college expressed gratitude to Mr. Obi for his generosity, describing the donation as timely and transformative. She stated that the funds would be directed toward upgrading facilities and learning materials to create a more conducive academic environment.
Students and community leaders also commended Mr. Obi’s continued support for educational development, saying his consistent contributions reflect genuine concern for national progress and youth empowerment.
