The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, has debunked reports suggesting that the President is scheduled to travel to the United States on Tuesday for a meeting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. Ajayi described the claim as completely untrue and lacking any official confirmation from the Presidency.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Ajayi explained that no such trip or diplomatic meeting has been arranged. He said the President’s official schedule for the week focuses entirely on domestic matters, including key government consultations and policy engagements within Nigeria.
Ajayi further cautioned media outlets and social media users against spreading unverified information about the President’s activities. He advised that only official statements from the Presidency should be regarded as credible and that misinformation could mislead the public and damage trust in governance.
According to him, President Tinubu remains in the country attending to pressing issues affecting the economy, national security, and public welfare. The aide added that the administration continues to operate transparently and will communicate any confirmed international trips or state meetings in due course.
He reaffirmed that the Office of the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity is committed to ensuring Nigerians receive accurate updates about the President’s engagements both within and outside the country. The statement urged the public to verify all political news from reliable sources before sharing online.
